Hauke Pane (Management Director)
Hauke Pane has been involved in shipping for more than 25 years. Following his nautical training and time at sea, he went ashore in 1989. As a qualified shipping agent he worked until 1998 for the well-known shipping group "Hamburg-Sued". In 1999, he set up and later managed the shipping division of a major German trading and issuing house. In 2006, Pane founded his own company as a shipbroker, BCH Befrachtungscontor Hamburg GmbH & Co. KG. When BCH and RHL merged on 1st January 2008, Hauke Pane became partner of Hamburger Lloyd and has been leading the company as its managing partner ever since.
Michael Brandhoff (Technical Director / Authorized Signatory)
After passing his "A" Levels, Mr Michael Brandhoff (Dipl. Eng.) underwent training as a ship mechanic (in the German sense of the term) at Hapag Lloyd AG. After completing his studies in marine engineering and nautical sciences in Hamburg, Mr Brandhoff joined Hamburg Sued, a company of the Oetker Group. As an inspector, he supervised the building and commissioning of a variety of container newbuilds in Korea for the Hamburg Sued Shipowning Group. After many years managing a fleet of 3,600 TEU vessels, Mr. Brandhoff took over the position of Manager responsible for the group's newbuilding projects at Hamburg Sued before being given the position of Technical Director for the Hamburger Lloyd fleet at the end of 2007.
Wolfgang Goerz (Director Chartering & Operations / Authorized Signatory)
Following his apprenticeship in the commercial shipping industry with Hamburg Sued in the late eighties, Wolfgang Goerz went abroad for one year as a chartering assistant with a London-based shipbroker. After he returned to Hamburg he worked with the German Ship Owner Leonhardt & Blumberg in their Operational Department. In 1993, Wolfgang Goerz joined one of Hamburg's largest shipbrokers, Messrs Ernst Russ GmbH & Co. KG, as a chartering broker at their container desk. He managed tonnage requirements for Liner Operators and their vessels.
Due to his vast experience, MPC Steamship (MPC Group's shipowner division) took him on as the Director in its Operational and Chartering Department. Mr. Goerz was responsible for the chartering and operational matters of a fleet comprising container vessels, reefers, gas and bulk carriers.
In May 2008, Wolfgang Goerz joined Hamburger Lloyd as the Director responsible for all operational and chartering issues.
Stefan Koleczko (Director Finance & Accounting / Authorized Signatory)
After finishing school and completing his apprenticeship, Stefan Koleczko worked for a leading banking company as a specialist for about 12 years. His duties involved foreign exchange and capital transfer as well as consulting corporate customers in all foreign trade issues. Following his banking experience, Stefan Koleczko started to work for a management company responsible for operating and marketing an offshore fleet of 15 fish processing trawlers. Mr. Koleczko had an exciting time while gaining a lot of experience in the shipowning business and financing project vessels. In 2003 Stefan Koleczko was responsible for setting up of the Financing and Accounting department of a young, medium-sized shipping company. His duties involved "anything to do with number", starting with the cash boxes on the managed vessels to complex negotiations with banks over ship financing.
